Remember back when covid was a thing… back when everyone was bored out of their minds and locked down in their homes.

Well there was a certain subsection of person that was living their best life during those times. And that subsection was the infamous internet guru.

And when you’re talking about internet gurus, you have to mention Mr. Gadzhi.

Iman’s been in the game since he was in diapers… or so he leads on to believe.

Was it really all hard work and dedication like a generic Rocky movie.

Or do we have to zoom out for the full picture.

Was Iman Gadzhi gifted his wealth?

Fact or Fiction: Entrepreneur edition #2

Mr. Iman Gadzhimagomedov (no, that’s not a joke) was born in Dagestan. He might have even brushed past Khabib on his little pushchair.

He lived in a house with no indoor toilet and his mother was working 3 jobs on rotation.

But when Iman was 4, his mother met his stepfather who decided to move them all over to London to live in what was practically a mansion.

His father was reportedly a mega billionaire who enrolled Iman at Southbank International School, one of the most prestigious (and expensive) schools in the world.

From the evidence so far you’d think the conclusion to this question is already concrete, but that’s not quite the case.

Iman’s stepfather, the mysterious billionaire, left his family and settled down in Dubai.

At this point Iman and his mother were stranded with no lifeline... so he decided it was time to roll up his sleeves and get to work.

He floated around from IG theme pages —> personal trainer —> photography —> and eventually landed on the modern day phenomenon that is now dubbed... The SMMA.

In the first year, he managed to scale up to 4k / month and then he decided to drop out of school. And you know how it goes from there -

Scale up to an annual 6-figures and then go guru course seller mode.

Iman documented his entire journey on YouTube, right from the very start.

So you’d think it should be simple enough to say that he built out his own empire. But that wouldn’t be 100% correct to be honest.

Today he’s a mega millionaire with various different income streams bringing him in millions year by year.

But how much did his stepfather contribute…?

I’m not saying it’s ALL thanks to his stepfather, but being in that close of a proximity to a man that’s made billions is surely going to rub off in some way or another right?

This newsletter isn’t here to decide whether or not Iman’s a scammer (I’ve never bought any of his courses) but all I’m saying is that the story isn’t so black and white.

He’s put in the hours and worked himself to the bone. But he did also go to one of the most prestigious and expensive schools in the entire world from a young age.

So the final verdict here would be that - he was not born with a silver spoon… but let’s just say he didn’t have to wash his own dishes either.

But who’s to really say without a clearer picture, this is all just assumptions based on some of the evidence I was able to scrounge up.
